Across the intensely competitive world of interactive entertainment, it's common for new contenders to disappear as swiftly as they explode onto the stage.
However Battlefield 6 is striving to change that.
It's the latest entry in a long-running combat FPS line frequently framed as a more realistic alternative to the CoD series.
The franchise has never quite succeeded to rival its most famous rival in aspects of units sold or user base, but evidence points to the new installment could reduce the distance.
An early access event giving players a shot to test the release earlier this year set new benchmarks, and the buzz heading into its debut has been massive.

Development Crew and Studio Collaboration
A total of four teams have been working on the game under the Battlefield Studios initiative.

Among those insights was to get fans engaged from the start, and the developers initiated exclusive fan testing sessions in recent months.
Their "response was incredibly favorable," says the manager.
Another absent element from the previous installment was a story mode, which has been restored this time around.
Criterion project head Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the one responsible for "making sure those missions are as fun and interesting as feasible for the players."
Regardless of allegations that the scale of the game had put a strain on the different teams working together internationally to create the project, he is optimistic about the work.
"Working with different cultures, distinct backgrounds, it's a really engaging environment to be engaged with on a regular basis," he shares.
"This whole strategy has been an innovation but additionally very inspiring because we are collaborating with team members from around the globe."
As for the anticipation on the developers, the director states: "There is demand but at the same time it's motivating.
"It's a major venture. It's probably the largest that the majority of the team have before worked on."
New Talent Brings New Perspective

The recent hire creates the atmospheric effects that define the atmosphere, feel, and direction of the solo experience.
