Starting Eleven

Dean Henderson Had little to do required before the break until forced to intervene from Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. One well-timed sliding tackle against Qazim Laci highlighted excellent game intelligence. Six out of ten

Jarell Quansah Tested by the opposition's biggest threat through Hoxha. Operated through the middle early on but moved wider after Saka came on. 7/10

The defender Moved forward with the ball at his feet, as he has done in the past. On occasion seemed hesitant when carrying play and the experiment abandoned after the break. Six

Dan Burn A constant threat from dead balls, typically, perhaps is an alternative to his teammate in defense as opposed to alongside him. A loose pass later in the match almost led to the first goal for Albania. 6

The young full-back Another composed display by the 20-year-old after his debut against Serbia. A teammate was unable to take the opportunity from a clever touch over the opposing backline. The left-back spot looks secure already. Seven

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning with the national team. A bit sloppy on the ball but his whipped corners were a threat. An effective game manager available to the boss to have versus sides that sit back. Cautioned after a reckless foul. 6/10

The midfielder Crosses on corner kicks and set-plays created chances. Enjoyed license to move in left midfield yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived in front of goal. Granted a merited break on the hour mark. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Operated in a high spot on the right and also did plenty of the hard yards. Displayed flashes of quality but scuffed a shot high. Substituted towards the end by a teammate, a fellow player, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance of the first half, his effort well saved from the Albanian keeper. With a teammate holding position, he was forced to offer an outlet down the right side but his crosses from wide areas were inconsistent. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

Harry Kane The decisive figure netting 77th and 78th goals at international level. The first a trademark close-range tap-in while the second a superb header having drifted away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better with the national team stand a real opportunity in future competitions with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game on the left flank. Had a presentable chance when set up by the midfielder but the keeper denied him. Rashford had a greater effect after coming on. 5/10
