Liverpool's Star Extends Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
He was omitted from a key Champions League match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
