JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution Aims to Fix the Anime's Major Issue

JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution isn't exactly an brand-new feature. Instead, the newest movie from the JuJutsu Kaisen supernatural series serves as a collection of the show's sophomore season combined with the initial episodes of its third season, which kicks off the Culling Games narrative from the manga series. This positions Execution, which just got a fresh preview, the first way to view the start of the next season ahead of its 2026 January debut. The feature launches in Japan on Nov. 7, and in North America on Dec. 5.

The Culling Games Arc

In the Culling Games storyline, Top-tier jujutsu user Yuta Okkotsu is introduced in the anime series and is tasked by jujutsu higher-ups to take down his classmate Yuji Itadori. Their much-anticipated fight occurs for the first time on the silver screen, and if the artists at the studio have something as special as installments 40 and 41 prepared for fans this holiday season, JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution may end up being the gift that we've been waiting for.

The Thunderclap Debate

"The Thunderclap sequence" from the second season is widely regarded as a top-tier scene in the history of anime, notwithstanding all the controversy in 2023 when the series first premiered. It was stated that the artists were enduring tight schedules to the point, and the released version that aired at the time was unfinished and reportedly not what the artists originally planned.

The Epic Battle

The scene features a long-awaited battle between two elite magic wielders, Sukuna versus Mahoraga. It includes experimental animation, excellent direction, and intense action. A later physical media version provided an opportunity to insert new moments to expand the fight. So it appeared likely Execution could refine the sequence additionally. However, examining the latest preview, it's hard to tell if that battle has undergone further polishing. It'd be a letdown if it was not, because a scene of that magnitude has to be seen on the cinema screen with the best presentation possible.

Season Two Success

The second season of JuJutsu Kaisen boosted the show to become 2024's anime of the year, and when the two-part finale were premiered one after another, it was the topic of conversation for weeks in the anime community. Fans were aware of the problems with the production, which made them appreciate what they saw even more. People anxiously checked to see if the home release, released on March 18, would add any additional scenes to the battle or to see if it was polished at all, and were overjoyed to see exactly that, alongside tone adjustments, enhanced animation, and different color grading.

The Movie's Opportunity

But the Blu-ray can only refine what has already been presented in the original airing, whereas the film has the potential to properly present the moment with more adjustments and new animations entirely.

A Crowning Achievement

At present, these two episodes represent the masterpiece of JuJutsu Kaisen, and should be given special attention by the studio, notably because of the issues they underwent at the time. It's captured the interest of anime fans all over the globe, and the Culling Games is one of the most anticipated anime arcs of next year. If the studio wants to start the year off right, revisit the show's top scene once again in cinemas with the best interpretation we've witnessed to date.
