Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
They have got lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
