Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The song blends a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the region was noted for its widespread damage, with a vast majority of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from later in the month.
